Freedom of Disinformation

In 2017 a video was released by the United States Navy showing a fighter pilot tracking a UFO over the Pacific Ocean. The video of a tic tac shaped object with no wings was filmed in 2004 and then vanished. Instead of denying the existence of UFOs, the US Government was now saying they were real. The Pentagon confirmed that there was a secret branch that had been investigating aliens. There was finally proof that aliens were real. Oddly, no one seemed to care.

Paul Bennewitz cared back in the 1980s. He cared so much that he was convinced he was intercepting electronic alien communications from his home in New Mexico. Bennewitz lived across from an Air Force base and became obsessed with documenting what he thought were flying saucers over his home. Bennewitz went to the Air Force base to give them the evidence he had collected. The Air Force told him what he was filming was real and they needed his help.

Bennewitz met with Air Force Office Special Investigator Richard Doty who was in charge of helping Bennewitz investigate aliens. Doty supplied Bennewitz with documents and fed him false information so that he would pass it along to other UFO researchers.

Bennewitz was the perfect person to manipulate. He had severe paranoia and had been hospitalized for a mental breakdown.

Bennewitz was not the only target of Richard Doty. He also contacted journalist Linda Moulton who was investigating cattle mutilations in New Mexico. Many people believed it was aliens collecting animal samples to take back to their planet. Richard Doty knew that the cattle mutilations were really from another military program with a team of new stealth helicopters testing nuclear radiation on cattle. The military unit would fly silently through the night collecting animal organs to take back to a military lab.

Linda Moulton was handed documents describing Majestic 12. A secret UFO committee formed in 1947 made up of military leaders and scientists. An executive order to investigate alien spacecraft created by President Truman. The year 1947 is the starting point for the UFO community. Many are convinced that multiple crafts crashed in Roswell, New Mexico and that alien bodies were recovered. The US government has stated that the Roswell crash was a weather balloon experiment. Another theory is that Russia was behind the crash. That the flying saucer was a German-made Horton V3 flying wing jet aircraft. The Roswell crash could have been the perfect hoax orchestrated by Joseph Stalin.

The fact that the US government was funding a disinformation program might better explain Bob Lazar. Lazar claimed to have been hired in the 1980s to reverse-engineer alien technology. He worked at a secret site named S4 just south of Area 51. Lazar worked on an alien craft that was powered by Element 115 which was not discovered until decades later. Lazar stated he read documents that describe an alien and human relationship that had been going on for thousands of years. He also claimed to have seen an alien body. There is no doubt that Lazar saw something that bothered him so much that he was willing to lose his job over. It is possible Lazar saw a flying saucer and an alien. However, it is also possible that they were put there for him to see.

Disinformation is misleading or false information created on purpose to deceive. Disinformation can be used to change the cultural narrative. If a government can manipulate your thoughts they can control your mind. Russia created an office of disinformation 1923. Stalin coined the term disinformation and it appeared in the Soviet Encyclopedia in 1952. It did not appear in English dictionaries until the late 1980s. By 2001 disinformation was commonly known as propaganda. The human brain often wrestles with right and wrong or finding truth. Disinformation has nothing to do with finding the truth. There is an old saying that those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still.
